Unidirectional thrust tapered roller bearings consist of a shaft ring, a seat ring, a cage assembly with tapered rollers, this type of bearings can withstand very high axial forces in a single direction, and cannot withstand radial forces. Due to the large number of tapered rollers running on bearing washers with tapered raceways, thrust tapered roller bearings have a high degree of rigidity. These bearings are not self-retaining, so bearing washers and roller cage assemblies can be fitted separately.
